Tie Guan Yin is the most well-known lightly fermented Oolong tea from Anxi, Fujian in China. This medium-bodied tea falls between green and red tea in both character and colour.
The story of Tie Guan Yin originates from a Buddhist devotee who offered tea to the Avalokitasvara Bodhisattva every morning. There was a night that he dreamt of a truly unique tea tree that was beyond his wildest imaginations. The next morning it appeared right before his eyes while he was heading to the tea plantation. Shocked and thrilled, he brought back the tree and grew it in his garden. The brew exhibited unique metallic-like colours while the tea resembled the Avalokitasvara bodhisattva. Henceforth, the tea was named *Tie Guan Yin’ [铁观音].

Just started drinking kungfu tea. This tie guan yin has the nicest aroma out of all the tie guan yins I have tried so far. Will look forward to trying out the other teas from tea chapter :)

Tea is good. Packaging is very nice. Too nice for self consumption. Possible to have a minimum packaging option for a greener tomorrow?
his tea is different from other tea . At 1st , I feel the price is abit steep .but after drinking , find it is all worthwhile . big tea leaves and smell nice. but the only thing i brought two and there is no indication which tea is which .

I am disappointed with the quality, the leave are not the classic Oolong picking ( Tie Guan Yin is another variation of Oolong) the traditional tea leave picking is 3 to 4 leaves, this team are all loose leave, first brew is the only time you will notice a very mild flavour, there isn't any classic Tie Guan yin fragrance, This is hardly a Supreme grade, I felt cheated. I am running out of the authentic Tie Guan Yin and I thought I will be getting better grade than the one I already have.
