How to read it
Each card describes a good, typical example of a place's tea. Most taste descriptions come from the tea trade and the press, and the cards say so. With oolong, the maker matters as much as the place: how far the leaf is oxidised and how hard it is roasted can move a cup further than a few kilometres of mountain.
The flavour map
Each tea is placed from its profile: across, how roasted and full it usually is (roast and body); up, how fragrant and sweet (aroma and sweetness). It is a summary of descriptions, not a laboratory measurement.
Sources
Every card lists the sources behind it. Map: Natural Earth; tea-area outlines from geoBoundaries; terrain from NASA's SRTM and the USGS GMTED2010; place locations from GeoNames, Wikipedia and © OpenStreetMap contributors.
